Jacketed Intake Air Pipe

Description

Higher Altitudes call for colder intake temperatures. Standard intake air coolers struggle to get the intake down to 32 F (0C) at the intake. Cooling losses due to the wicking effect and slow air movement in the crossover pipe prevent the engine from achieving low temps at the intake.  The main 8 inch intake pipe conducts a lot of heat into the cold air heading to the engine. By the time the  air reaches the in take its become warmer than when it left the tower. We designed a jacketed intake tube that is the exact match for a stock intake tube with all temp probes and fitting to mate to the engine as normal. All one would need to go to 32 or lower would be to connect the intake tubes inlet and outlet to a suitable lab chiller capable of maintaining a constant 32F (0C). Call us for a quote.
